What does D+E+I mean?
It is an abbreviation for the Dominican Ecclesial Institute and in Latin it means "of God." What do the Friends of D+E+I do?
We seek to gather those people into association who want to see D+E+I flourish.
What is the importance of such a group?
It is important for a Friends group
to promote D+E+I by broadcasting its mission and programs,
to serve D+E+I in practical and financial ways,
to provide an opportunity for people to participate in the D+E+I programs and events.
Why is this mission important?
In the Letter to the Romans (10: 14-15) we read:
How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed?
And how shall they believe in Him
whom then have not heard?
And how shall they hear
without a preacher?
And how shall they preach
unless they are sent?
Just as it is written:
How beautiful are those who
bring glad tidings.
So many people wish to hear this Good News in a way that makes sense to their adult faith. The importance of this mission is that it is to the minds and hearts of people hungry to find God.
Why should I become a Friend of D+E+I?
In addition to helping promote the work of D+E+I you will also receive the blessing of D+E+I. Members of the Friends of D+E+I are able to bring a guest for free to the D+E+I Offerings and a significant discount on the D+E+I programs, classes and events, as well as the D+E+I Newsletter. In addition to this, an annual Advent Mass and Reception is held for the Friends of D+E+I. Friends are also invited to other D+E+I Special Receptions and Socials for Speakers or Events.
How do I join the Friends of D+E+I?
Membership in the Friends of D+E+I is automatic when you contribute $300 or more per year to D+E+I. In addition one needs a willingness to fulfill the mission stated above and to realize its importance through promoting, serving, and providing for D+E+I.
What do I need to do to join?
To formalize your commitment, fill out the Friends of D+E+I form when it is sent to you along with your Contribution Summary for your previous tax year. You will receive information on the Friends of D+E+I Events for the coming year.
