Spiritual Direction Online Programs

More and more women and men are coming forward to serve the Church in their unique calling as laity. The gifts of the Holy Spirit which are given for the upbuilding of the Church are present in so many people. The gift of good counsel is particularly important today and the Holy Spirit pours this gift out on so many people. While they may not know it or fully understand their gift they are individuals who have a knack for being good listeners. The person you see in the grocery store and share your burden and find they have given you solace. Individuals with such gifts demand nurturing, and the honing of their gifts to one day become capable spiritual directors.

The Spiritual Direction Seminar and Spiritual Direction Supervisory are two of D+E+I's regular offerings. Due to their popularity we have designed an online format. While nothing matches the human interaction of the classroom we believe that the online format is a valuable way for busy people or people living in more remote locations to learn.

We hope that both the Spiritual Direction Seminar and the Spiritual Direction Supervisory will help foster the quality and kind of spiritual companionship that so many people of Faith long for in their lives.

Seminar Sessions
Next Session
January 2 - February 13, 2008

Registration Deadline
December 15, 2007

The Seminar is designed to introduce the participants to the important ministry of Spiritual Direction. This Seminar is designed for both the person involved in this ministry or that person who is curious to learn about it.

The Seminar provides for the basics tools for spiritual guidance. Its four components cover:

Spiritual Direction Fundamentals
Theological Reflection & Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Life and the Christian Ensemble
The Praxis of Spiritual Direction.

The Seminar provides a valuable review for those already doing Spiritual Direction, as well as an informative introduction to those interested in learning about this ministry.

The Supervisory Workshop is an opportunity to meet with others who are doing Spiritual Direction. It provides for theological reflection and evaluation of pastoral practice by peers and other professionals.

The Workshop is intended for those with formal or informal training in ministry who are interested in developing their understanding and skills in the art of Spiritual Direction.

The ministry of Spiritual Direction, like all ministries in the Church, is best served in a supportive and formative community.

While both the Workshop and the Seminar are
approached from the Catholic perspective they
are Ecumenical and open to all involved in this
important ministry

Arrangements can be made with parishes or
religious institutions for this Seminar to be
offered live, at a time and in a location better suited
for your group.

But this is the most wonderful thing, that no one can seek you who has not already found you. You therefore seek to be found so that you may be sought for, sought so that you may be found.
