High Desert Tea

Since its start D+E+I has honored women and men outstanding in Adult Faith Formation in presenting the Lumen Ecclesiae Award, (The Light of the Church Award). For the first decade we accepted nominations from parishes in the Archdiocese. A person should demonstrate their sense of a mature faith, excelling in educational, liturgical, parochial, pastoral, or spiritual service to the Church.
With the start of our second decade we have chosen to select the recipient from the diocese at large. In the past nominations came from the parish and their pastor. Now a person may be nominated by the archdiocese at large. The Lumen Nominating Committee will take into consideration all names in their selecting the recipient. D+E+I's major fundraising event was held on April 25, 2007 from 4 - 6:30 pm at the Albuquerque Hyatt Regency.
The tea provided an afternoon celebration benefiting The Dominican Ecclesial Institute. The Lumen Ecclesiae Award was presented to Dr. Ben Baran for his dedication to the study of Sacred Scriptures throughout the city of Albuquerque.
